October 5 at 9PM on Front Row Washington, join us for a recital from Paul Lewis, regarded as one of the leading musicians of his generation, with music by Mendelssohn, Mozart, Scriabin, and Mussorgsky. Presented by Baltimore's Shriver Hall Concert Series.
On October 12, Kassia Music plays music by its own musicians and Johannes Brahms from The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Bethesda.
Opera Matinee
This Saturday on Opera Matinee, join us for Verdi's Falstaff, a production by LA Opera led by James Conlon. Saturday at 1PM.
The following week is James Conlon's Farewell Concert with the LA Opera with excerpts from various operas.
Choral Showcase
On Choral Showcase, Bill Bukowski continues the showcase of spookiest works in choral music during the month of October. This Sunday at 9, Druids, demons, and the battle between good and evil this week on Choral Showcase, in Felix Mendelssohn's The First Walpurgis Night. And from Venezuela, a singing contest plays out between a llanero and the devil in Cantata Criolla by Antonio Estevez.
Next Sunday is Dvorak's The Spectre's Bride.

Hear the next generation of classical champions as talented teens play the classics in concert on From the Top. This Sunday at 6, we hit the jackpot of incredible repertoire. A teen guitarist describes her Spanish-inspired work like a fiesta, a cellist with insights into physical and mental wellbeing brings fire to her performance of Cassado, and a piano trio from the Pacific Northwest perform Shostakovich with gusto!
