WETA

  • Audience Services Representative

    Primary duties include assisting/problem-solving questions and concerns from members, viewers and listeners. Primary subjects for calls and emails include WETA’s fundraising programs; member benefits such as WETA Passport (our membership video on-demand streaming service); NPR+; the WETA Magazine; and questions and requests related to WETA’s television and radio programs. Maximize opportunities to retain or increase current donor giving and recruit new supporters. Strike an overall balance in advocacy for WETA’s best interest with the needs and best interests of its constituents.

  • Director, Production Services

    WETA is a leading public media company dedicated to delivering high-quality news, entertainment, and information to our audience. We pride ourselves on our commitment to journalistic integrity, creativity, and innovation in broadcasting.

  • Production Manager

    The Production Manager (PM) is responsible for the logistical and other key operational activities to support the production of PBS NewsHour, Washington Week, PBS NewsHour Weekend and related special productions.

  • Sr. Instructional Designer and Writer, Reading Universe

    We are looking for a senior curriculum designer and writer to join the team responsible for Reading Universe, WETA’s ambitious new web-based national literacy project focused on teacher professional development. You would play an essential role in planning, writing, and advising the production of multimedia content for the Reading Universe website.

Internships

  • Digital Media: Local History Intern (Full-Time)

    Local History interns work within WETA’s Digital Media team to develop content for Boundary Stones, WETA’s local history initiative. Through articles, photos, video and social media, Boundary Stones seeks to highlight the notable events, personalities and happenings that have shaped the Washington, D.C. area’s past. Candidates must be active college students.

  • Digital Media: Local History Intern (Part-Time)

  • Engagement Intern (Part-Time)

    The Outreach and Engagement intern handles various tasks, including writing, event management, data compilation, marketing, and web research, all of which support WETA's work in the community. The intern also supports grant-funded work centered on the station's community-based early childhood programming. This work will include developing materials and activities, overseeing logistics for workshops, and communicating with community partners. Candidates must be active college students.

PBS NewsHour

  • Full Stack Software Engineer

    PBS News seeks an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team in building high-quality educational digital experiences for public media. You'll play a key role in developing and supporting our educational products, while also contributing to cross-platform initiatives. This includes a large-scale overhaul project on the Student Reporting Labs (SRL) digital learning platform, StoryMaker, to increase interactivity and site functionality, as well as working on other special digital projects. This role blends user interface development with backend engineering and offers the opportunity to work on a high-visibility media ecosystem that reaches millions. We are seeking someone with technical skill, excellent problem solving, and a desire to work with a team to bring a vision to life.

  • Gwen Ifill Fellow, Washington Week and PBS News Weekend

    This one-year fellowship was created in honor of award-winning PBS NewsHour anchor Gwen Ifill. The fellow works as part of a producing team to create the weekly, national TV news analysis program, "Washington Week," as well as the PBS News Weekend. The fellow will work collaboratively with producers to research national and international news stories, gather video elements, assist with scripts, monitor and log live news events, generate story ideas, copy edit, and produce broadcast and web content.

  • Producer, Politics

    The Producer, Politics serves as an integral member of the PBS News Hour politics unit, overseeing the production of video segments for use on broadcast and a variety of online content. The Politics Producer may work from Capitol Hill, the White House, the Supreme Court and the campaign trail as assigned.
