Folger Shakespeare Library

Folger Shakespeare Library

After four years of construction and eleven years of planning, the Folger Shakespeare Library is reopen to the public. The innovative new underground wing does more than expand exhibition space and create physical accessibility for all. Through the renovation the Folger is reconceiving its mission from a temple to Shakespeare and a library for scholars, to a cultural destination for all. Located near the Capitol South and Union Station metro stops, it’s open every day except Monday. Check out their eighty-two Shakespeare’s First Folios, the largest collection of the rare first time the plays appear together in a printed edition, in the world, right inside the entrance to the new wing!
