WETA Arts: September 2020

Take a lesson: Dance Place holds virtual classes Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, featuring lessons in African dance, Cuban dance, hip-hop, and more. All classes take place over Zoom, and you can sign up on their website.

For the Family: Also available on the Dance Place website is a series of virtual dance classes for kids, with different lessons for all age groups. 

A Look into the Past: You can hear the story of Lincoln’s assassination, learn about the Civil War in Washington DC, and discover the storied history of Ford’s Theatre through Ford’s expanded Digital Learning programs. Resources include up-close artifact explorations, eyewitness accounts, virtual tours, and more! 

Distance Learning: Apart from the wealth of online resources, anyone can sign up for weekly online discussions and virtual field trips hosted over videoconference. 

Oratory Project: To keep Lincoln’s words alive, Ford’s Theatre is offering an opportunity for students to learn, analyze, and perform Lincoln’s speeches through their online Oratory Project! The application for the 2020-21 school year is open; in the meantime, check out their YouTube channel for past performances.
