Preview: WETA Arts April 2025
This month on WETA Arts, learn about the resilience of the D.C. theater community. First, visit Rorschach Theatre, which has been surprising audiences with performances in unusual locations since 1999. Also, host Felicia Curry takes viewers behind the scenes of her own life as a local performer as she prepares for a cabaret performance.
Rorschach Theatre
Rorschach Theatre is known for using unusual spaces to create visceral theatrical installations. productions. Few spaces are as unusual as "various places in the city". Running March through August 2025, "VOX POPULI: A Psychogeographies Project" is a self-guided urban adventure guided by Rorschach and culminating in a live performance. Rorschach is located in downtown DC's Golden Triangle, where you can find poems by winners of this year's haiku contest on display on sidewalks throughout the area.
Felicia Curry/Aaron Reeder Cabaret
Baritone Aaron Reeder appears in the Washington National Opera's production of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. He's working on a tribute in honor of Sammy Davis Jr.'s centennial. Felicia Curry performs at the fifth annual "Broadway in the Park" a Signature Theatre and Wolf Trap collaboration, and also at the 2025 Studio Theater Gala. MetroStage is hosting a Roberta Flack tribute concert at The Lyceum in Alexandria, VA.
