Tuesday marks six months since a pro-Trump mob attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to stop the certification of President Joe Biden's election win. Judy Woodruff and Lisa Desjardins take a deeper look at the investigations into that day.

There are still many questions about what happened at the Champlain Towers in Surfside, Florida. Earlier warnings regarding needed repair work are prompting questions about the original design and construction, and whether cost concerns eclipsed risk concerns. William Brangham discusses the matter with Allyn Kilshimer, a renowned structural and forensic engineer hired to investigate the collapse.

Many countries have closed or scaled back operations at consulates in Afghanistan as the Taliban have scored territorial gains since mid-April, when the U.S. announced its military withdrawal. How does the war in Afghanistan — America's longest war — look to the soldiers that were deployed there, and what do they think of the withdrawal? Three veterans share their experiences with Nick Schifrin.

The tentative settlement between the Boy Scouts of America and its sexual abuse survivors is one of the largest in U.S. history. But the national organization had filed for bankruptcy in the winter of 2020. So just how much will survivors receive and is the settlement adequate? John Yang reports with attorney Kenneth Rothweiler, who represents about 16,000 claimants and negotiated the settlement.

The San Francisco Bay Area has a rising homeless population. On any given night, an estimated 35,000 individuals are without a place to live. Meanwhile, the cost of living continues to climb. Much effort has gone into resolving the crisis, to little avail. But now, there's new hope that those with an insider's perspective can make that much needed difference. Stephanie Sy has that story.
