Kevin McCarthy came up short in three rounds of voting for House Speaker on Tuesday. One supporter of his bid is Rep. Lisa McClain of Michigan. First elected to Congress in 2020, McClain voted against certifying Arizona and Pennsylvania electors for President Biden’s victory and has denied the valid results of the election that year. Republican Kevin McCarthy has aimed to be Speaker for years but a group of his own party members adamantly opposed him.
