What will the future look like? That’s the big question posed by a new exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Eighty designers from around the world have put their imaginations to work, leveraging both anxiety and excitement over the possibilities offered by innovation and new technology. Jeffrey Brown reports.

In his State of the Union, President Trump emphasized U.S. economic growth, arguing that his administration’s policies are driving it. Friday’s jobs report, which was stronger than many analysts had predicted, is partly in line with those assertions. But the overall American economic picture is more nuanced than Trump’s rhetoric.
