In his speech at the the Republican National Convention, Vice President Mike Pence spoke on many topics, including a claim that the Trump administration inherited “an economy struggling to break out of the slowest recovery since the Great Depression.” Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy had grown steadily for a decade, but it had been the slowest economic recovery since World War II.
