The Desert Speaks

Tracking the Giant Cactus

How did it get there? Could the Seri Indians have planted and cultivated it hundreds of years ago? In search of the answer, this program goes on an ethnobotanical journey along the coast and mountains of western Sonora, where the cactus is still the lifeblood of modern-day Seri Indians. We also visit the Seri people, who invite us to join them for a sagueso harvest.
