While filling in for Miss Higgins at the medical office, Nancy meets Roger Nobel – a medical salesman and fellow Irishman – who’s eager to speak with Dr. Turner about his tranquilizer products. Although he has no appointment booked, his charm and persistence win over Nancy’s help, and the two of them share some undeniable chemistry.

With still no lead on where Reggie has gone, Fred returns to the Buckle household where he finds Trixie consoling Violet. Fred explains the police have decided to halt their search for Reggie for the night – a fact which causes Trixie to jump right into action. She quickly approaches an off-duty police officer and insists that the force continue their efforts.

Sister Veronica and Geoffrey team up to tackle some cooking, and Sister Veronica even sips a sneaky spoonful of brandy. Geoffrey tells his friend that he often feels at home when visiting Nonnatus House and jokes about how he enjoys being around other “spinsters.”

With the festive season in full swing, the children currently residing in the hospital are gifted a surprise: Santa! Although, is it really just Fred?

Sister Veronica eagerly waits for the results of the mince pie contests. But she soon discovers not everyone is a winner.
