Vindman discusses the current conflict in Ukraine and his latest piece in Foreign Affairs Magazine, "America Must Do More to Help Ukraine Fight Russia." Vindman proposes a lend-lease program modeled on the one that provided arms and assistance to U.S. allies in Europe during WWII. He also discusses how Trump and the GOP empowered Putin, and what it is like to be sounding the alarm to no avail.

On this International Women's Day Putin sought to placate Russian wives and mothers, mindful of their central role in Russian society. Historian Olesya Khromeychuk, director of the Ukrainian Institute London, lost her brother in the 2014 Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine, while Afghan activist Orzala Nemat has twice survived Taliban takeovers of her native Afghanistan. They join the program.

The British government is being criticized for choking off the flow of refugees with red tape: Out of almost 20,000 applications, just a few hundred visas have so far been issued to Ukrainian refugees. Meanwhile, the independent Norwegian Refugee Council has announced plans to support 800,000 victims of the conflict, both inside and outside Ukraine. The organization's secretary general joins us.
