Soon to retire Detective, Peter Devriendt, is assigned a new partner, Vicky Degraeve, who has been transferred from the intervention team due to a back injury. Their first case is the brutal murder of Esmé, a young Turkish girl. Evidence points towards an honor killing by the hands of Esmé's uncle, Ferhad Perez.

Ferhad, the presumed culprit of Esmé's murder, is viciously attacked and left for dead alongside a puzzling message which is the first of the Ten Commandments. Investigations lead Vicky to Esmé's boyfriend, Joren who is shocked to discover Esmé was pregnant. Peter asks his informant, Hristo, to find out who brought Ferhad to Belgium.

It seems that there is a serial perpetrator, who goes by the name Moses, at large in the city. The police investigation team receives an email with photos of three potential victims. The third of the Ten Commandments is their only clue, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

For the second time, Moses' actions have made it into the press. A video recorded by Moses leads Marnix and Simon, colleagues of Peter and Vicky, to a retirement home where they see a suspicious figure. Peter and Vicky make an unpleasant discovery.

Marnix and Simon face some hard questions from Internal Affairs following a shootout. Peter and Vicky's investigation continues; they return to the retirement home and get very close to Moses - is he about to strike again?

With very few consistent clues or evidence, Peter and Vicky begin to wonder if Moses is real or are they dealing with a series of copycats? Hristo, Peter's informant, makes a discovery. New information leads to a certain Armand De Terloo, but the mystery deepens when it transpires that he has been in a mental institution for over a year.

A year ago, Armand De Terloo was killed by the biblical punishment of stoning. Evidence suggests that Moses is responsible, however it destroys the theory that Moses' attacks follow the Ten Commandment chronologically and confirms he has been active for at least a year. The story explodes in the media, with some fanatics expressing support for Moses' cruel actions.

Moses strikes again and a young girl is kidnapped. The police are on high alert as they try to trace the missing victim. Is Moses becoming careless? The investigating team have a new lead when they discover a vital clue - a finger print. A shocking surprise forces Liesbet, head of police department, to remove Peter from the case.

With Peter removed from the case, Vicky is assigned a new partner, Tony. Peter is angry with Liesbet for being removed from the case. The team is desperate to find out who Moses is. The name of Professor Schatteman pops up in an old police file which may provide a new clue.

Is Professor Schatteman's suicide the work of Moses? Tony continues digging and Liesbet puts Peter back on the case; they can use all the help they can get. Moses asks Moreels' religious community for help. They are more than happy to help Moses with "his strict interpretation of the ten commandments and his continuous struggle to rigorously live by them."

Moreels is released due to insufficient evidence. The press starts to ask hard questions and Liesbet is under pressure to provide answers. Vicky and Tony are still on the hunt for the kidnapped girl. Investigations leads the team to Maria and Alain's greenhouses. Sara is hospitalized, and Chantal gets close to discovering Peter's secret.

Given that there are only ten Commandments in the Bible the detectives are at a total loss when a 11th crime is committed. Will this nightmare ever end? Vicky and Tony look into the murder of Amalia and question her daughter. Did she speak with her mum's murderer? Was it Moses? Vicky tries to complete the puzzle and turns to Peter for help.
