Doc Martin, Season 10
A bittersweet ending of the popular series that spans countries and almost two decades worth of television, Season 10 picks up in the fictional Cornish village of Portwenn, a year after Doc Martin resigns his medical license. His wife is now the one seeing patients in her new career as a child counselor while he looks after their two young children. But does Doc Martin truly never want to practice medicine again? The final season shows him making efforts to confront his phobia and questioning his decision of resigning as Portwenn’s general practitioner, all with the addition of baby daughter Mary Elizabeth to the family and all the excitement a newborn brings.
Royal Flying Doctor Service, Season 2
Based on remarkable real-life stories, this gripping drama series follows the modern-day heroes of the Royal Flying Doctor Service as they navigate private lives as turbulent and profound as the heart-stopping emergencies they attend to across some of the most beautiful and inhospitable places in the Australian outback.
Call the Midwife Holiday Specials
Call the Midwife follows the nurses, midwives and nuns from Nonnatus House, who visit the expectant mothers of Poplar, providing the poorest women with the best possible care. Before the beloved London-set midwifery drama presents its annual holiday special (available to stream on the free PBS App and with WETA Passport on December 25!), catch up on the previous four holiday specials with WETA Passport!
If You Lived Here Special Episodes
WETA’s acclaimed local house-hunting and neighborhood exploration series If You Lived Here spotlights more communities in four special episodes. Co-hosting the programs are Christine Louise and, in his final appearances on the series, John Begeny, who passed away in August. In the shows, they visit more homes around the D.C. area; talk with realtors, historians and residents about local neighborhoods; and discover what makes each community special.
American Experience: The War on Disco
The War on Disco explores the culture war that erupted over the rise of disco music. Originating in underground Black and gay clubs, disco unseated rock as America’s most popular music by the late 1970s. But many diehard rock fans viewed disco as shallow and superficial. The hostility came to a head on July 12, 1979, when a riot broke out at “Disco Demolition Night” at a baseball game in Chicago.
