Episode 1
Sarah Cloyce begins her testimony with the arrival of the Rev. Parris and his family. Tituba, Parris's West Indian servant, inflames the impressionable minds of some of the girls of Salem with stories of voodoo and devil worship. Fueled by malice, the girls begin to level charges of witchcraft at some of the women in the community. Sarah's sister Rebecca is arrested after being named by the girls.

Sarah concludes her recollection. While awaiting trial, Sarah and Rebecca are joined in prison by their pious sister, Mary, also accused of witchcraft. Rebecca endures the ordeal of trial, conviction and hanging, and Mary soon follows her sister to her own death. Sarah escapes death but must endure the brutal conditions of imprisonment. As the drama concludes, a verdict is rendered.
