2012 Festival | I Survived

A firsthand account of Sgt. Samuel Tapia's experience when his convoy hit a roadside bomb. While on his second tour in Iraq, Tapia's convoy was hit by an anti-tank mine that was double stacked with propane tanks. He was burned over 52 percent of his body, so much so that his left fingers had to be amputated. He relives his near death experience as he recalls the horrible accounts of that night.
