In the Shadow of the Sun

Three hours from mainland Tanzania, Ukerewe Island is home to a large community of people who live with albinism — a congenital absence of pigmentation in the skin, eyes, and hair. This film tells an intimate story about two very different members of the albino community, as a wave of brutal killings targeting people with albinism sweeps their country.
