FRONTLINE goes inside the battle for Hong Kong, following protesters through the most intense clashes over several months of pro-democracy protests. The film examines their struggle against what they say is growing influence from the communist government of mainland China.

Agnes Chow has been described as Hong Kong’s “goddess of democracy.” A leading voice in both the 2014 “Umbrella Movement” and the even larger wave of pro-democracy protests that gripped Hong Kong last year, she is one of five young protesters FRONTLINE follows in the documentary, "Battle for Hong Kong." “We want,” she tells FRONTLINE in this excerpt, “to choose our future by ourselves.”

This excerpt from "Battle for Hong Kong" follows a protester, "Li," who says he once used peaceful methods -- but has now turned to violence. He's one of five young protesters FRONTLINE follows in the film, which goes inside the massive and unprecedented pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong that was sparked last year by a controversial extradition bill - and met with force by the police.
