Meet four families from across America who took part in a week long “aging boot-camp” filled with immersive experiences such as special effects make-up, an MIT designed and developed aging empathy suit, and doctors visits — all designed to encourage the families to think about aging, plan for the future, and discuss their hopes and fears amongst each other.

While wearing MIT’s AGNES — an aging suit designed to simulate what being 80-years-old may feel like — Drey participates in a Fit and Fall class at a local community center. The class is designed for older adults, aiming to strengthen balance and mobility. We watch as Drey experiences many emotions — from frustration to empathy — and in the end realizing how resilient older adults can be.

L’Oreal and Carol visit Frieda — a cafe designed to bring generations together, regardless of age. During their visit, L’Oreal and Carol meet the owners of Frieda and learn about what inspired them to create this unique space and community. They also are introduced to Tina — Frieda’s spunky and vibrant 90-year-old hostess who defies many cliches about aging and what it means to be an older adult.
