The Devil’s Throat

When the body of a retired border policeman is found by the side of a lake, a dark and twisted investigation begins.

Miya begins questioning a refugee who confirms that Karakehayov helped him cross the border. The prosecutor is keen to pin the murder on the refugee.

With two dead bodies, Miya is starting to see a connection: religious symbolism. However, Miya is taken off the case and sent home to her daughter.

Believing that others are in danger, Philip brings Miya back onto the case. Not long after, a mother reports her son missing.

To get her locket back, Diana agrees to go into the Devil’s Throat with Lazar. Meanwhile, Miya & Asen find another severed body in the forest.

The morgue finds that the body’s tongue was cut off after death. Miya believes it is a ritual that won’t stop until the killer completes his story.

Miya’s accusation of Asen causes her team to turn their backs. A mysterious package containing a knife arrives at the station.

A dramatic night ends with Lazar in custody, questioned by Miya, and Diane in tears. Later, Miya comes close to the killer. Donka goes into labor.

Dimitar is kidnapped by a man claiming to be the serial killer, but Miya is not convinced. There is an investigation into where Deniz got her money.

Philip questions his father’s relationship to Deniz. Miya asks the local priest if there is any truth to the legend of the river in the cave.

In shock, Philip decides to withdraw from the case because of his conflict of interest. Razovsky tries to deter Miya from digging up the past.

Dimitar is in grave danger. The pieces begin to fall into place, with devasting effecte for Philip.
