Destination Detroit

No city tells the 20th-century American story like Detroit. Drawn by the promise of opportunity, families arrived from the South, Appalachia, and across the world to build new lives. Destination Detroit explores this powerful migration story—through community voices, history, and culture—connecting Detroit’s past and present to the larger American journey as the nation approaches America 250.
