With so much of the focus on the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza – mass casualties, population displacement and destruction – Gaza authorities say it's "unlike anything they have seen in previous aggressions." Human Rights Watch Program Director Sari Bashi joins Hari Sreenivasan to discuss the increasingly grave situation on the ground in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

At least 3,000 people have been killed in Gaza since airstrikes began. Immediate concerns center on trying to get life's basic necessities to the people who are currently under Israeli siege. The only way into Gaza right now is through Rafah, which is at the border between Gaza and Egypt, but the crossing remains closed. Christiane speaks with Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry.
