Pope Francis is making the first visit to Iraq in the history of the papacy. Iraqi Christians have been targets of persecution at the hands of Al Qaeda and ISIS, with thousands having fled the country. Correspondent Ben Wedeman is on the ground in Baghdad, and joins the show with an update on the visit.

    Today the United Nations Security Council held a closed-door meeting to discuss the Myanmar crisis, with the UN’s Special Envoy for Myanmar urging them to take action. Dr. Sasa says he was with Aung San Suu Kyi on the morning of the coup last month, but managed to escape in order to help form a shadow government. He has been appointed envoy to the UN on behalf of the now disbanded parliament.
