Tipalti Supplier Registration
Note: While Tipalti refers to all payees as “suppliers,” WETA/NewsHour may internally refer to them as “vendors.” For the purpose of this registration process and related communications, we will use the term “supplier.”
WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC has partnered with Tipalti to handle all onboarding and management of new suppliers and individual contractors. Effective July 1, 2025, all new suppliers must be invited to register through the Tipalti website by a contact at WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC. Existing suppliers will be invited to register over the next several months, but this will not preclude conducting business prior to registration through Tipalti.
The Tipalti platform creates efficiency in the process of obtaining business details and payment information from our suppliers. This online supplier platform is free to our suppliers. It provides the most secure method we have for protecting supplier information, e.g., taxpayer identification numbers and banking information. Suppliers will be able to maintain their supplier profile themselves without going through departments.
All suppliers must use this system for registration and updates, which is accessible by invitation from a WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC employee.
If you have been invited, you will receive an email from Tipalti with a link to begin the registration process. The registration process will be largely electronic.
Information for Prospective Suppliers
Any payee by WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC is considered a supplier. If an individual passes the requirements of an independent contractor, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, and is not engaging in services that may be considered employment, he or she is also considered a supplier within the WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC accounting system.
WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC only pays approved suppliers. Approved suppliers are those companies/independent contractors that WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC wishes to do business with.

Initial Setup and Updating Information via Tipalti
By invitation only, suppliers of WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC must set up through Tipalti, a secure online supplier management portal.
For the initial setup, suppliers, individual contractors & consultants must register through Tipalti.
This setup is by invitation only from a WETA/NewsHour Productions LLC employee in the department from which the supplier is being ordered or paid.
Suppliers may update their business and payment information only through Tipalti using the Tipalti credentials (email and password) created at the time of initial setup.
Suppliers that were originally created through other methods and need to or have been asked to update their information must enter their full business and payment information through Tipalti for the initial connection. We do apologize for this necessary inconvenience. Subsequent updates will then simply require only additional or modified information.
