The Impact of Supporting WETA’s National Programs

For more than five decades, WETA has been a major producing station for PBS, creating exceptional television programs for audiences nationwide such as PBS NewsHour, Washington Week, Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s The Vietnam War and Henry Louis Gates, Jr.’s Finding Your Roots. WETA has won more than 500 awards for its productions, co-productions, presentations and projects, including Primetime Emmy Awards, George Foster Peabody Awards, and duPont-Columbia Journalism Awards.

Direct philanthropic gifts from individuals and family foundations are critical to the research, development, production, and distribution of every program, project, or initiative created at WETA. A direct gift of $25,000 or more will allow WETA to continue to provide award-winning programs to be shared throughout the country and around the world. In recognition of their generous philanthropy, donors who support WETA’s national programs receive exclusive benefits based on their level of giving such as text-on-screen name recognition, invitations to events with PBS talent and producers, and more.
