Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes turns to Mozart in his latest project with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and we’re pleased to feature the 2-CD album all week on Classical WETA. Andsnes leads the MCO from the keyboard in Piano Concertos 20-22 and joins three members of the orchestra in the G Minor Piano Quartet.
These works are from an amazingly prolific period in Mozart's life -- 1785 and 1786 -- and mark a high point in the development of the classical piano concerto. We hope you enjoy these masterpieces.
