Music from Bohemia is our focus this week as we feature a recent Grammy-nominated album by violinist Augustin Hadelich.
Dvořák’s Violin Concerto from 1879 is the highlight of the recording, with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša. Rounding out the album, pianist Charles Owen joins Hadelich in several chamber works: short pieces by Dvořák and Suk, and the dramatic Violin Sonata by Janáček.
Hadelich frequently shares updates on his website, where you can read about his upcoming Bach album and his involvement with the Elb Philharmonic Orchestra in Hamburg.
