WETA PBS Kids is encouraging children in grades K-3 throughout the Washington Metropolitan area to write an original story, poem or piece of non-fiction to enter in the WETA PBS Writers Contest!
Children will have the opportunity to win great prizes at the local level. Don’t forget to spread the word; the local class, after-school or child care center that submits the most entries to WETA PBS Kids will win children’s books and a visit from a famous PBS character!
Rules and Prizes
Contest is open to children in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grades who live in DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia. All entries must be postmarked by May 11. Submissions can also be scanned and emailed to outreach@weta.org.. Enter today!
There will be three winners at each grade level; First, second and third place winners.
First place winners at each grade level will have their stories made into a hardcover book! See rules below for information on national prizes.
How to Enter
To enter, download and complete the form below. Then mail it to WETA along with the student's book. All entries must be postmarked by May 11. Submissions can also be scanned and emailed to outreach@weta.org
