Marcus Pfeifer is a weekend host on WETA Classical. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Marcus earned a degree in Music from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania before starting his career in marketing and development for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. Later, he moved to Orlando, Florida, and spent 11 years in hospitality management at the Walt Disney World Resort.
After moving to the Virginia/D.C. area, Marcus began recording audiobooks and short film voice over as a freelance voice artist. He’s enjoying his third year in the baritone section of the Cathedral Choral Society in Washington, D.C., and he volunteers for Learning Ally, narrating audiobooks for those with dyslexia and learning disabilities.
Marcus volunteers additional time as a Feature Writer for Washington Metro Oasis, a lifelong learning program for seniors.
Pfeifer is also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving a tour of duty in Kuwait in 2007 as a vehicle and personnel inspector.
When he’s fortunate enough to have free time, he enjoys hiking and biking, cruising, cooking, Jeopardy, virtual reality design, and “open world” video games.
