From IMG Artists: Speaking about the partnership with Jan Lisiecki, Julia said, “I enjoy the journey of touring with Jan tremendously, how the interpretation grows from concert to concert, and how we dare to challenge each other more in each performance”. Talking about the repertoire for this tour, she explains, “It is very interesting to hear how the dynamic between violin and piano changed from the sonatas by Mozart to Schumann. The Mozart sonata could almost be played without me, the piano really is the main part. Beethoven is pretty equal but in Schumann I dare say that the violin is almost leading the Sonata. I personally enjoy these recitals tremendously, because it is a true conversation between two people. Two solo instruments in a very intimate setting!”
