Modest Mussorgsky

Considered to be Modest Mussorgsky's masterpiece and a centerpiece of Russian opera, Boris Godunov is an epic presentation of Pushkin's tragic portrayal of the tsar struggling between blind ambition and catastrophic paranoia.  This production of the Metropolitan Opera stars veteran bass René Pape in the title role.
