William Schuman: The composer that shaped Juilliard, the Lincoln Center, and American music

There can be several reasons why a prominent person can fall into obscurity after their death. Sometimes it's because they were never prominent to begin with, or because the changes they made in their field have already undergone further change themselves, or because their accomplishments slowly merge into the institution's culture.
