Margaret Bonds was an American composer (1913-1972) who collaborated with Langston Hughes and studied with Florence Price and William Levi Dawson during a century of fast and widespread change. This work of Bonds is one of only 2 surviving orchestral works of hers, and it sadly suggests we have lost several more.
