Although separated by a number of years, the Requiem masses of French composers Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) and Maurice Durufle (1902-1986) make a perfect pair. Gently consoling and powerfully uplifting, these works have received a number of performances in the years since they were written, and we'll hear two of the more recent ones on this week's Choral Showcase.
