Part II of our celebration of the musically-beneficial friendship between Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams, on this week's Choral Showcase. Best friends from college, they were also each one's staunchest supporter, and most valued critic. We'll hear a major work by Vaughan Williams, his oratorio Sancta Civitas, and a work Holst dedicated to his friend, The Hymn of Jesus. We'll finish with Holst's Six Choral Folk Songs.
