with Seraphic Fire

From one of the oldest surviving musical manuscripts comes Ordo virtutum, or "The Play of the Virtues," a medieval morality play by 12th-century abbess Hildegard von Bingen. One of her greatest works, it dramatizes the struggle of a wandering soul (Anima) between the lures of the devil and 12 personified virtues. Seraphic Fire performs the complete work on this week's Choral Showcase, from their just-released recording.
