Front Row Washington

This is a concert to remember as connections are made between the tango and past influences with legendary bandoneon player JP Jofre.

The Lysander Piano Trio has been praised by The Strad for its “incredible ensemble, passionate playing, articulate and imaginative ideas and wide palette of colors” and by The Washington Post for “an uncommon degree of heart-on-the-sleeve emotional frankness” and “vivid engagement carried by soaring, ripely Romantic playing.” The group has developed a reputation for exciting programming, finding creative ways to connect well-known masterworks with pieces by lesser-known and underrepresented composers, and discovering common threads across cultures and times.

Native from San Juan, Argentina, Juan Pablo Jofre Romarion aka JP Jofre, is a GRAMMY® Award-nominated composer and bandoneon player. Mr. Jofre has been repeatedly highlighted by the New York Times and praised as one of today’s leading artists by Great Performers at Lincoln Center. His music has been recorded by the legendary London Symphony Orchestra, 16 times Grammy winner Paquito D’ Rivera, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra among others.
