July 3: Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Star-Spangled Spectacular at Oregon Ridge, 8PM
Celebrate the originality and independence of America’s greatest composers! From the jazzy high life captured by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein to the epic film scores of Aaron Copland and John Williams, the American sound is lively and limitless. Valerie Coleman’s anthem for essential workers and a new spin on patriotism by BSO Artistic Partner, and hip-hop spoken word artist Wordsmith update the national tradition for the 21st century. Like the flag that once flew over Baltimore’s harbor and inspired The Star-Spangled Banner, this big and bold music is a declaration of freedom.
The performance closes with a fantastic fireworks display! Gates open at 5 pm, come early and set up your chairs or picnic blankets.
The following vendors will be on site with food and beverage to purchase starting at 5 PM: Flash Crabcake, Kona Ice, Little Havana, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, Glizzy’s Wagyu Dogs, Boordy Vineyard, Diamondback Brewery. Homemade picnic items and BYOB can be enjoyed in the park before and during the performance. NO GLASS ALLOWED.
Event parking is on-site only and included in the price of your ticket.

July 8: Wintergreen Music - Barber Violin Concerto with Elisabeth Adkins, 6:00 pm
Wintergreen Festival Orchestra; Erin Freeman, conductor; Elisabeth Adkins, violin
Artistic Director Erin Freeman takes the podium leading the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra in the first weekend of MountainTop Masterworks performances with “music to match the view”. From composer Emilie Mayer (known for lush, romantic, Beethoven-style compositions) to Wintergreen’s own concertmaster Elisabeth Adkins, we honor the rich contributions that women have made to the music world. With a special performance of the beautiful Chorale for Strings by the late Ukrainian composer Hanna Havrylets and the sweepingly stunning Barber Violin Concerto, this concert is as rich in historical interest as it is in artistic inspiration.

July 9: Garth Newel Music Center - Pianist Simone Dinnerstein
American pianist Simone Dinnerstein has a distinctive musical voice. The Washington Post has called her “an artist of strikingly original ideas and irrefutable integrity.” She first came to wider public attention in 2007 through her recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, reflecting an aesthetic that was both deeply rooted in the score and profoundly idiosyncratic. She is, wrote The New York Times, “a unique voice in the forest of Bach interpretation.”
Since that recording, she has had a busy performing career. She has played with orchestras ranging from the New York Philharmonic to the Melbourne Symphony and has performed in venues from Carnegie Hall to the Seoul Arts Center. Her 13 albums have all topped the Billboard classical charts, with her 2021 album, Richard Danielpour’s An American Mosaic, receiving a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Classical Instrumental Solo.
The Washington Post writes that “ultimately, it is Dinnerstein’s unreserved identification with every note she plays that makes her performance so spellbinding.” In a world where music is everywhere, Simone hopes that it can still be transformative.
