July 27: Heifetz Institute - Grand Finale & Farewell Toast

There is no event quite like it. The Grand Finale is an extraordinary evening of music and community as our final concert of the season represents an all-star gathering of the faculty and every one of Heifetz Institute students in a rousing concert brimming with fire, passion, and virtuosity. It’s then followed by the Farewell Toast, where students, faculty, and audience members raise a glass together for a poignant and uniquely Staunton summer ritual.

July 27: Wintergreen Festival  - A Striking Season Finale with Stravinsky & Rachmaninoff

Guest soloist Clayton Stephenson (piano & grand prize winner of the Nina Simone Piano Competition) joins the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra in Rachmaninoff’s lush, romantic, and memorable Piano Concerto No. 2. Wintergreen’s own Gilda Lyons will also connect us across country borders in her familial composition, La flor más linda. To complete the epic season finale, guest conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya takes the stage to bring Stravinsky’s vivid and magical Firebird Suite to life!

The BSO performs classical music's greatest hits, from Mozart to Beethoven and everything in between. Enjoy this curated selection of musical favorites, ranging from the iconic opening of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony to the euphoric finale of Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony.
