National Chamber Players

Join us for a wonderful performance of two big works in the chamber music repertoire by Dmitri Shostakovich and Johannes Brahms.

The National Chamber Players have been the resident chamber ensemble at Episcopal High School since 2004. Made up of members of the National Symphony Orchestra and other prominent artists and under the artistic direction of N.S.O. cellist James Lee, the National Chamber Players perform four concerts per year in the Ainslie Arts Center's Pendleton Hall.

Choral Showcase

This week's Choral Showcase presents music by Mozart and by one of his contemporaries, the composer and occasional recital partner, Marianna Martines. From Martines, the Cantata Psalm 151, Come le limpide; and from Mozart, the Missa Longa in C Major.

Opera Matinee

Donizetti's light-hearted comedy, La fille du régiment, an audience favorite, tells the story in beautiful arias of an intrepid young orphan brought up by a regiment of French soldiers during the Napolenic wars of the 19th century.  A performance by the National Centre for the Performing Arts, with Sabina Puértolas in the title role.  Conducted by Matteo Beltrami.
