Choral Showcase

This weekend on Choral Showcase, Gianandrea Noseda leads the London Symphony Orchestra, Chorus, and soloists in a powerful performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem Mass. A dramatic and deeply felt memorial for his friend, the writer Alessandro Manzoni, it is truly a Requiem for the ages.

Opera Matinee

Inspired by President Richard Nixon's 1972 historic visit to the People's Republic of China, John Adams' Nixon in China premiered in 1987 and has become an audience favorite, combining seriousness and levity with creative orchestration that includes saxophone, synthesizer and lots of percussion.  Renowned baritone Thomas Hampson in the title role, with Renée Fleming as Pat Nixon.  A production of Opéra de Paris.
