Music for Evensong on Sunday evening's Choral Showcase, with the Short Service by Thomas Tallis. We'll hear the Messe Basse, or "Low Mass," by Gabriel Faure, and conclude with Maurice Durufle's luminous Requiem for chorus and orchestra.
Opera Matinee
Bellini's bel canto beauty, La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker), follows the troubles of a woman beset by sonnambulism. A production of Belgium's Opéra Royal de Wallonie, with Jessica Pratt and René Barbera in the principal roles, led by Giampaolo Bisanti.
