I recently had the pleasure of interviewing violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, who will be performing with guitarist Jason Vieaux on February 28 as part of the Dumbarton Concerts series. We discussed this upcoming concert, as well as her long career, her ongoing mission to expand the violin repertoire through her many commissions and collaborations with composers, and the effects that last year's fires in Los Angeles continues to have on her family.

In our conversation I referenced this interview she did at age 12.

We also talked about Philip Glass's New Chaconne, a work written for Ms. Meyers which she premiered in 2024 and will be performing on the Dumbarton program. Even though the sheet music for the piece has not yet been published, it has already entered the repertoire of other violinists; here it is performed last fall by Ava Pakiam.
