It is keys galore on this week's Front Row WashingtonJohn Banther features pianist of 21st Century Consort and Steinway Artist Lisa Emenheiser along with a fellow Steinway Artist Lura Johnson. The piano duo dazzles us with music by living American composers, and a later work from the forward-thinking Debussy. Monday night at 9PM ET.

This week on our tour of classical scoundrels on Choral Showcase' rogues' gallery, Bill Bukowski features Ivan the Terrible. Drawn from the score of the 1944 film epic by Sergei Eisenstein, Sergei Prokofiev brings this 16th century tsar to life, known for his paranoia and rage, and episodic outbreaks of mental instability.

Enjoy Bizet's opera this Saturday afternoon

Join us this Saturday afternoon at 1PM ET for Georges Bizet's The Pearl Fishers - a commission that arose after Bizet won the prestigious Prix de Rome. The story is set in ancient times on the island of Ceylon, the tale of two men’s vow of eternal friendship threated by their love of the same woman. Shimmering music and an iconic tenor-baritone duet. This production of China's National Centre for the Performing Arts features Olga Peretyatko, Francesco Demuro and Alfredo Daza.
