Opera Matinee

La Bohème, Puccini's passionate, timeless, and heartbreaking tale of love among young artists in Paris in the 19th century, owes its popularly to gorgeous arias, tender ensembles and luscious orchestration.  This live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera is conducted by Marco Armiliato and features Joseph Calleja and Elena Stikhina as lovers Rudolfo and Mimi.

We get to know a teen violinist who shares how he deals with performance anxiety, a guitarist inspired by his Colombian heritage, a 12-year-old cellist who incorporates bluegrass into her classical studies, a pianist with an interest in robotics, the concertmaster of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, and an exciting trio of bass, flute, and bassoon!
