Government grants and contributions from private, family, corporate and community foundations are important sources of support for WETA.

Often providing seed money or capstone funds for WETA projects, foundation and government support makes it possible for WETA to develop new national and local productions; implement community outreach initiatives, such as Ready to Learn; and continue bringing our viewers and listeners their favorite programs, like Around Town.

Foundations and government agencies provide roughly 9 percent of WETA's annual revenue. WETA's Foundation and Government Development staff raises money for general operations as well as for a number of WETA projects.
