Life on the Line

Narrated by Lisa Ling, this documentary series centers on people's desire to overcome -- whether it be a disease, natural disaster, disability or mental illness. Loma Linda University Health serves California and dispatches a medical team around the world. The series follows patients from Southern California to the Amazon, Haiti and Egypt as they fight the good fight with the same goal in mind -- to stay alive. Segments include a newborn baby in need of a heart transplant and the elderly in Lesotho who care for their grandchildren amid the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
