VEGA 10th Anniversary and Volunteer of the Year Awards

The Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA) invites you to attend its 10th Anniversary celebration and awards ceremony to recognize outstanding volunteers. The event will mark the 10 years of VEGA's existence and honor Volunteers of the Decade, in addition to recognizing its members' exemplary volunteers from 2013.

This year’s event also will feature an in-depth conversation about the impact of international volunteering. Professor Benjamin Lough from the University of Illinois, one of the foremost researchers in the U.S. on international volunteerism, will provide an overview of the impact of volunteerism on development projects, and facilitate a discussion between the audience and the honorees about volunteerism.

Coffee, pastries, and networking starts at 8:30am. Formal presentation begins at 9:00am.

This event is cohosted by the Building Bridges Coalition. The BBC invites participates to join them on Capital Hill in the afternoon following the event to speak with Congressional Leaders about H.Con.Res.70 – Recognizing the critical contributions international volunteers provide to the United States.
