GRAND OPENING for NEW CLARENDON ART GALLERY
Opening Reception and Meet the Artists
Date: September 15, 2018 – Activities from 11am on and Wine Reception 5-8pm
Arlington, VA – Gallery Clarendon’s Grand Opening (including all-day special art activities) will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018 from 11am-8pm. Recently opening its doors in the former Fuego restaurant corner at Clarendon Blvd, and Fillmore St., this newest professional art gallery created by the Arlington Artists Alliance brings a fresh exhibit every month featuring work by Alliance members.
Fun features for this day-long event include demos and activities for both kids and adults. A reception at 5-8pm with refreshments from favorite local restaurants creates an opportunity to meet the Gallery artists, with music provided by local band HYFY.
Located in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, this popup art space showcases local artists, offers classes, hosts events and manages on-site professional artist studios. The group’s other show space is Gallery Underground within Art Underground in Arlington’s Crystal City area.
On second Fridays of every month (the exception being Saturday for this Opening), Gallery Clarendon hosts a FREE opening reception for each new exhibit, open to all from 5-8pm. Each month the entire gallery changes to a fresh show from its talented local members. Artwork on view includes paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media; drawings; photography; fiber art; sculpture; glass; metal work; ceramics and jewelry.
The Arlington Artists Alliance also operates an art Academy offering both day and evening art classes at this location, in a variety of media for all ages. Of additional interest to the public are the new Studios Clarendon artist studios on the second floor of Gallery Clarendon, fostering cultural and economic development opportunities in Arlington. Open daily to the public from 11am-7pm, these working artist studios provide an intriguing artistic destination for area residents, employees, and visitors.
