Join Riversdale after dark for an eerie program at Gothick Eve: Till Death Do Us Part. Costumed interpreters will guide guests on a lantern-lit tour through the early 19th century mansion, with stops to hear ghostly tales inspired by morbid weddings of the past.
Along the way explore our current exhibition, Your Presence is Requested: Calvert Weddings, 1799-Today, which commemorates the 220th Anniversary of the 1799 marriage of Rosalie Stier and George Calvert, the original residents of Riversdale, and delves into the weddings of their descendants and the enslaved population. With this backdrop, we will take creepy twists and turns through histories and tales of unfortunate brides, devious grooms, and dreadful marriage rites.
Toast the not-so-happy couples of yore with champagne and wedding treats and enjoy this special twilight Riversdale experience.
For ages 21 and up. Advance registration is required by November 1. Fee: $15.
